A bit of history

The Pincha is Libertadores royalty: three in a row (1968, 1969, 1970) and champions again in 2009. They proudly call themselves Tetracampeón. Juan Sebastián Verón is club president.

Fun fact

The nickname was not born in a stadium but in La Plata's Mercado Regional: Felipe Montedónica used to chase rats with a big fork, and Gimnasia fans turned it into a taunt. Today the city has a mural of him captioned el primer Pincharrata.
